A no-nonsense full-length boot sock manufactured for standard issue in the East German "National People's Army." Complete with its own Soviet Design Bureau branding and unique sizing system (screw you, West Germany), the Strumpfkombinat or Combat Sock is an all-purpose lightweight wool sock.
Despite the wool material, the sock itself seems designed for active use in warmer weather. The lightweight construction and thick ribbing mitigate sweat while providing a low-friction, lightly-padded sock suitable for duty use.
